Role Overview
Kalos is hiring a Performance Analyst to work directly with members using DEXA scan data and evidence-based training methods to drive measurable improvements in strength, body composition, and performance. This role is designed for individuals with experience in high-performance environments, including technology, consulting, sales, or elite athletics, who are motivated to apply analytical thinking and coaching skills in a client-facing role. This is not an entry-level position: a minimum of one year of full-time professional experience is a hard requirement, and applications from current students or candidates graduating this year will not be progressed. Formal personal training certification is not required; intellectual rigor, athletic credibility, and being able to adapt quickly is.
About Kalos
Kalos is redefining personal training through the use of DEXA technology. The company builds precision, evidence-based programs for members seeking quantifiable improvements in physical performance and health. Kalos serves startup founders, executives, creatives, and high-performing professionals who expect discipline, accountability, and results comparable to those demanded in their careers.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret DEXA scan results to inform training programs
- Coach members one-on-one, both in person and virtually, toward measurable outcomes
- Design individualized programs in collaboration with internal subject-matter experts
- Manage high-touch member relationships with professionalism and consistency
- Contribute to a high-output team setting standards for health and performance coaching
Qualifications
Hard requirements. Applications without these will not be progressed:
- At least one year of full-time professional experience. Two or more years in a performance-driven environment (technology, consulting, sales, operations) is our sweet spot. This also fits you if you recently pivoted into the fitness industry from one of those fields and are now looking to grow with a startup that is transforming the way fitness is bought and delivered.
- A real fitness dimension beyond the gym as a hobby. This looks like one of the following:
- You coach others, even informally or on the side: some of our best analysts ran a small coaching practice alongside a consulting or sales career.
- You have coached yourself to a serious level: competitive collegiate athletics, or a deeply committed personal practice in lifting, running, Hyrox, endurance sport, or similar, with the training log to prove it.
Also required:
- Strong quantitative ability: comfort working with data, percentages, and numerical analysis is essential and will be assessed as part of the hiring process
- Demonstrated ability to actively adopt and use technology tools, including AI, in both personal and professional contexts
- Strong interest in data, measurement, and continuous improvement
- Comfort working directly with clients in a relationship-driven role
- Alignment with a high-expectation, results-oriented team culture
Additional Qualifications (preferred but not required)
- Degree from a highly selective university, preferably in a quantitative or health-science field
- Experience managing premium or high-touch client relationships
- Interest in body recomposition, VO₂ max, glucose monitoring, or quantified self methodologies
Recent graduate? We would love to hear from you once you have real experience behind you. Our strong recommendation: spend at least six months doing hands-on one-on-one personal training, at a gym like Equinox or equivalent, then apply and tell us you took this path. Analysts who have done exactly this have joined us and excelled.
Compensation and Benefits
- Total compensation range of $120,000–$140,000 (base salary plus commission)
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage (Anthem)
- Covered gym membership
- Comprehensive internal training and professional development
- Clear growth paths within a performance-driven organization
